The Ljubljana Festival is the central event of Festival Ljubljana and one of the most important cultural happenings in the country. Each year, it brings together outstanding domestic and international artists, offering audiences a wide range of symphonic and chamber concerts, as well as opera, ballet and theatre performances. The program is further enriched by the International Fine Arts Colony, which connects renowned visual artists at Plečnik’s Križanke, as well as children’s and youth workshops designed to encourage creativity among the youngest participants. Part of the summer program also takes place on the Ljubljanica River under the banner of Ljubljana Festival on the Ljubljanica.
With its long-standing tradition, Festival Ljubljana makes a significant contribution to the development and preservation of Slovenia’s cultural landscape. In addition to the summer festival, it also organizes Slovenian Music Days, the Winter Festival, and the Young Virtuosi International Music Cycle, which is dedicated to discovering and showcasing the most promising young musicians.
