An Evening with Jeremias Fliedl and Piano Duo
Jeremias Fliedl is one of Austria’s most promising young cellists, already performing in major concert halls on a Stradivari cello from 1693. Alongside him, the piano duo Kalabova & Gugg brings youthful energy and musicality, enchanting audiences across Europe as part of the prestigious NASOM program.

The Austrian cellist Jeremias Fliedl was born in 1999 in Klagenfurt. He studied with Heinrich Schiff, Clemens Hagen and Julian Steckel, and also received significant guidance from Daniel Müller-Schott and Michael Sanderling. He has appeared at festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, Mozart Week, Schubertiade Hohenems, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern festival, Carinthian Summer and Grachtenfestival, and at concert halls including the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Centre of Fine Arts Bozar in Brussels and Laeiszhalle Hamburg. As a soloist, he has performed with the Brussels Philharmonic, the Bremer Philharmoniker, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra, among others. In the 2025/26 season, he will make his debut with orchestras in Thessaloniki, Denmark, Lyon, and Vienna. In 2024 his debut recording, Transformation, was released by Berlin Classics with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn under Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, to excellent reviews. He has won prizes at the Cello Competition in Liezen, Svirél and Antonio Janigro Senior Cello Competition, and he is the first Austrian cellist to become a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. He plays an Antonio Stradivari cello from 1693.
The Kalabova & Gugg Piano Duo is composed of Tereza Gugg-Kalabova and Johannes Gugg, both born in 1998, who have been performing together since childhood. They achieved international recognition in 2021 with a special prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, and have since appeared in major concert halls, including the Konzerthaus and the Brahms Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, as well as the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest. They have won numerous first prizes, including at the International Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition in Graz, the International Duo Competition Suzana Szörenyi in Bucharest, ArtePiano International Competition in Italy, as well as at events in Jeseník, Sofia and Brno. They have performed with ensembles, such as the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Their performances have been broadcast in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, and the Netherlands. They studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with the Japanese pianist Ayami Ikeba, and are further refining their skills under the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo from Israel. During the 2025–2026 period, they are participating in the NASOM (The New Austrian Sound of Music) programme of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
