The Cameristi Della Scala
The La Scala Chamber Orchestra of Milan will perform works by Giuseppe Tartini at the Ljubljana Festival, together with flutist Massimo Mercelli and violinist Massimo Quarto. The renowned orchestra, which has been performing in the world's most prestigious halls since 1982, will perform two concerts - in Ljubljana and Piran. The events are taking place as part of the European project tARTini, which connects cities of Tartini's heritage and promotes cultural tourism.

The Cameristi della Scala with soloists Massimo Mercelli and Massimo Quarta offer a programme of works by Tartini. Since its foundation in 1982, the orchestra has appeared in many of the most prestigious concert halls and collaborates frequently with top instrumental and vocal soloists. Massimo Mercelli is a world-famous flautist and a regular guest of the Ljubljana Festival. Violinist Massimo Quarta has won prizes at many competitions and frequently partners musicians of international fame. The Cameristi della Scala Orchestra will actually perform twice at this year’s Ljubljana Festival, first in Ljubljana and then, a day later, in Piran, the birthplace of Giuseppe Tartini, one of the leading European violin virtuosi and composers of the eighteenth century. Both concerts are part of the European cross-border project “tARTini”, which brings together institutions in Piran, Ljubljana, Trieste and Padua with the aim of stimulating cultural tourism and promoting cultural heritage.
