On Humanity, Values and Civilization
Is morality still a relevant foundation of society in the 21st century, or is it being replaced by ethics and law? Distinguished experts from various fields will exchange perspectives on the role morality plays today and the role it should play in shaping the future of Western civilization. The symposium will also provide an opportunity for questions, reflection and dialogue with the audience.

Is the concept of morality still relevant in the twenty-first century, after several decades in which the discourse has focused almost exclusively on ethics, while morality seems to have come to be regarded as outdated and therefore no longer suited to our time?
If morality remains relevant alongside ethics and law, what does morality mean today, or what should it be in order to ensure the continued evolution and survival of Western civilization?
The symposium will be moderated by Dr Andrej Drapal.
At the conclusion of the symposium, members of the audience will have the opportunity to address questions to individual speakers or to the entire panel, or simply to share their own reflections on what they have heard.
The symposium is an expression of the Grand Lodge of Slovenia’s respect for Slovenia and its people, as well as a modest attempt to open up discussion on issues that are often overlooked amid the fast pace of everyday life, yet have formed the foundations of every culture for millennia.
