Musical Evening
The first Thursday of August will feature a diverse program including works by Bottesini, Rossini, Piazzolla, and others. Performing will be top-tier musicians: double bassist Rick Stotijn, clarinetist François Benda, and pianists Elina Gotsouliak and Zsuzsa Bálint—all acclaimed professors and performers with international experience.

The first Thursday evening in August will be dedicated to a stylistically diverse repertoire spanning several periods. The programme will include works by Italian Romantic composer and double bass virtuoso Giovanni Bottesini, Italian opera innovator Gioacchino Rossini, French composer and Les Six member Francis Poulenc, American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, Argentinian tango revolutionary Astor Piazzolla, American contemporary composer David Anderson, twentieth-century Hungarian composer Vilmos Montag, Russian composer of German and Polish descent Reinhold Glière, and twentieth-century American composer Morton Gould. Za kontrabasom bo Rick Stotijn, v Amsterdamu izobraženi vsestranski glasbenik, ki poučuje na Visoki šoli za glasbo Robert Schumann v Düsseldorfu. V vlogi klarinetista bo nastopil François Benda, ki je študiral v Gradcu in Ženevi, danes pa je profesor na Univerzi za umetnost v Berlinu (UdK) in na Visoki šoli za glasbo v Baslu. Za klavirjem bosta Elina Gotsouliak, v Rigi in Baslu izobražena pianistka, ki je prav tako domača s čembalom, in Zsuzsa Bálint, ki je študirala v Essnu in Berlinu, danes pa poučuje na UdK.

Ticket holders for events within the 73rd Ljubljana Festival are entitled to free rides on LPP city buses within two hours before the start and two hours after the end of each event.

Festival Ljubljana is committed to ensuring a welcoming and accessible experience at cultural events for persons with reduced mobility.
