Premiere of Gaja’s World 3
Gaja’s World 3 concludes the beloved family trilogy. This time, we follow 16‑year‑old Gaja as she enters high school and faces new challenges, until her world is shaken by the kidnapping of her mother, a doctor on a mission. Gaja bravely sets out on a rescue mission, joining forces with an unexpected ally, the criminal Alex.
The film will be shown in Slovenian with English subtitles.
Interesting facts
- The first instalment of the Gaja’s World trilogy received three Golden Reel awards for outstanding box office performance and became the most-watched television film in Slovenia in 2020. The first two films rank among the ten most-watched Slovene films since 1991, together attracting more than 160,000 cinemagoers.
- Gaja’s World 2 was named Best Film in the Children’s Programme by the youth jury at the 24th Sarajevo Film Festival.
- Gaja’s World is the first Slovene film in several decades to receive a third instalment; before it, only the Kekec film series had achieved this.
The music for the film will be composed by the internationally acclaimed composer Anže Rozman.

Coming soon to cinemas is the family action comedy Gaja’s World 3, the third instalment in the popular Gaja’s World trilogy (Slovenia’s first film trilogy since the legendary Kekec films). It is a family action comedy packed with action, humour and emotion that also addresses important topics such as peer violence, navigating family relationships after a divorce, the power of friendship and the importance of peace and compassion in times of conflict. With a combination of determination and empathy, Gaja proves that courage and trust can overcome even the most difficult ordeals. In the third film in the trilogy, we follow Gaja, now sixteen, as she embarks on a new phase in her life – starting a new school, first loves and first disappointments. Her life is turned upside down when her mother, a doctor on a mission in a war zone with Médecins Sans Frontières, is kidnapped before her eyes during a video call. Unable to resign herself to doing nothing, Gaja bravely takes matters into her own hands and sets out on a dangerous rescue mission, where she must join forces with an unexpected ally, a criminal named Alex (Jurij Zrnec).
The premiere screening will be an opportunity to greet the entire creative team, headed by director Peter Bratuša, and the outstanding cast consisting of: Uma Štader (Gaja), Jurij Zrnec, Sebastian Cavazza, Iva Kranjc Bagola, Ajda Smrekar, Goran Navojec, Lotos Vincenc Šparovec, Jernej Kogovšek, Uroš Smolej, Miha Brajnik, Vesna Kuzmič, Enej Černe Berčič, Neža Smolinsky, Filip Žunič, Mina Švajger, Brina Rakun and Svit Šturbej. The film was produced by Felina Films (producers Peter Bratuša, Miha Zore and Špela Levičnik), in co-production with the Slovenian Film Centre and Viba Film.

Free rides on LPP city buses
Ticket holders for events within the 74th Ljubljana Festival are entitled to free rides on LPP city buses within two hours before the start and two hours after the end of each event.
