Urban Stanič is a regular performer at the largest concert venues in Slovenia, and has extensive experience as a soloist with the most prominent orchestras in his homeland. He finished his studies with the highest praise in the class of Professor Emerita D. Tomšič Srebotnjak at the Academy for Music of the University of Ljubljana, and was in the class of S. Vladar at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Since he won 2nd prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition in Cologne in 2014, he has given concerts in various European countries and played as a soloist with conductors such as Q. Hindley, G. Pehlivanian, N. Venditti, S. Dvoršak, C. Larsen- Maguire, S. Kulenović, Ž. Ploj Peršuh, K. Poska, D. Mori, K. Solomnišvili in U. Lajovic. He won the Prize for the Best Slovene Contestant and Prize for the Best Performance of a Slovene Work at the 1st Ljubljana Festival International Piano Competition in 2023. His recent concerts include a solo recital in Gallus Hall, Slovenia’s largest and most prominent concert hall, and the opening of the 2024/25 season of the Slovenian Philharmonic.
