Sehyeok Son, a pianist from South Korea, currently studies at the Colburn School with F. Bidini and H. Kim. He trained at Yewon Arts University and the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK. His awards include the Grand Prix at the Henle Piano Competition (2020), Korean Liszt Piano Competition (2021), and Best Romantic Piece Award at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (2022), where he was also a finalist. He has performed at the Kumho Art Hall Yonsei, Yamaha Hall, and Seoul Arts Center, and played Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Sergei Rachmaninov with the Millennium Symphony Orchestra in 2021. In 2023, he collaborated with A. Wass in The Rite of Spring for Two Pianos. He has participated in masterclasses with K. Zimerman, K. Lifschitz, and C.-M. Kang, with support from the Human Resources Development Foundation and Samick Cultural Foundation.
