Born in 2000, Mathis obtained his master’s in piano in 2022 at the Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance with the highest honours, studying with Florent Boffard, Claire Désert, Romano Pallottini, and Roger Muraro. He is now completing a second master’s in collaborative piano at the same institution with Jean-Frédéric Neuburger and Yumi Otsu, while continuing piano studies with Célimène Daudet. Supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation, he has won numerous prizes, including First Prize at the Pierre Barbizet International Piano Competition (Marseille, 2024), and Third Prize at the Epinal International Piano Competition (2025). As a soloist, he has performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Stravinsky’s Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments, Fauré’s Ballade, Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major, and Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor with leading orchestras in France and abroad. He has given recitals at venues and festivals such as the Goethe-Institut Lyon, Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre in Paris, Un piano sous les arbres in Lunel-Viel, Musiques en Écrins in Vallouise-Pelvoux, and Musique dans la Rue in Aix-en-Provence. In 2025, he appeared on the radio broadcast Générations France Musique, and performed at the Nohant Festival Chopin, Festival de Musique de Pontlevoy, and Festival International de Piano de la Roque d'Anthéron.
