“Very beautiful sound – I really like your interpretation” said the pianist Sir András Schiff after one of Dominik’s performances in Berlin. Dominik Ilisz is a pianist in his third year of studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Professor Christopher Hinterhuber. Dominik has already performed on many major stages in Europe, including the Romanian Atheneum in Bucharest, and the Megaron the Athens Concert Hall. He has given concerts in Germany, Italy, France, Spain, and Austria. A significant milestone in his career was his debut at the Vienna State Opera, one of Vienna’s most prestigious stages. In the next season, he will also make his debut at the Vienna Musikverein. His recent achievements include a Medal of Honour at the 70th Maria Canals International Piano Competition, Special Prize at the Ettlingen International Piano Competition and at the Bechstein-Bruckner-Competition Austria in Linz, the Klemens-Kramert Award given by the Beethoven Society in Vienna and the Anny Felbermayer Award, which he received in 2023 from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In 2024, he was nominated for the title of Young Artist of the Year at the ICMA Awards 2026.
