Christos Fountos started taking piano lessons at the age of five under Professor M. Gospodinoff. He graduated from the National Conservatory of Cyprus with the Highest Distinction at the age of 16, and a year later he performed Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.2 in F major, Op. 102 as soloist in his debut with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. At the age of 18, Christos started studying under the pianists P. Fowke and M. Tirimo at Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance in London, from where he graduated in 2022 with top marks and numerous awards of excellence for his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Artist Diploma in Performance, having studied with a full scholarship. As a soloist he has performed Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in F-sharp minor, Op. 1; Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18; Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30 and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43, pieces by Sergei Rachmaninov, Sergei Prokofiev, Ludwig van Beethoven, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Maurice Ravel. An active chamber musician, as the pianist of the Waldstein Trio he has performed across England and in Canada, Malta, Austria (Musikverein Brahms Saal, Mozarteum), Germany (Beethoven-Haus Bonn), and the USA (Carnegie Hall Weill Room, New York City). He has performed twice with the cellist R. Wallfisch in recitals.
