Awards of the Ljubljana Festival International Piano Competition 2026
Main prizesof the competition
The following main prizes may be awarded to the six finalists:
- 1st Prize / The City of Ljubljana Prize: 50,000 €
- 2nd Prize / The Zavarovalnica Triglav Prize: 30,000 €
- 3rd Prize / The Ljubljana Festival Prize: 15,000 €
- 4th Prize: 8,000 €
- 5th Prize: 5,000 €
- 6th Prize: 3,000 €
Otherawards
Special diplomas may also be awarded for the following best performances:
- Best performance of a Baroque work: 500 €
- Best performance of a Classical Sonata: 500 €
- Best performance of a Romantic work: 500 €
- Best performance of a 20th Century work: 500 €
- Best performance of a 21st Century work: 500 €
- Best performance of a work by a Slovenian composer: 1000 €
- The highest ranked pianist representing Slovenia: 500 €
Performances:
- the winner of the competition will perform:
- at a Ljubljana Festival event in 2027/2028
- at a concert organized by the artistic director of the competition in the 2026/2027 season
- at the Emilia Romagna Festival 2027/2028
- as a soloist with the SNG Maribor Symphony Orchestra in the 2026/2027 or 2027/2028 season
- as a soloist at the semi-final round ("concerto round") of the Pehlivanian International Conducting Competition - if the winner of the competition will play on a Fazioli piano, Fazioli will grant him the opportunity to perform a concert in the Fazioli Hall in Sacile, Italy
- The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ljubljana will award a special diploma for the best performance of a work by Fryderyk Chopin; the prize winner will receive a five day study trip to Poland, which will be organised by the National Institute of Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw in collaboration with the embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland; during the stay they will have the opportunity to visit the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, perform their own piano recital at the composer’s birth place in Żelazowa Wola and to participate in masterclass organized by the National Institute of Fryderyk Chopin in Radziejowice
- the highest ranked Slovenian pianist will have the opportunity to perform with the Ensemble Dissonance chamber orchestra
