Arsenii Mun was born in 1999 and started playing piano at the age of six with E. Zyabreva. From 2010 to 2019 he studied in St. Petersburg State Conservatory with A. Sandler. Since the summer of 2019 he has been a “Yamaha Artist”. He is now continuing his education in the Juilliard School of Music in New York with S. Babayan. Mun made his concerto debut in 2009 in the Grand Hall of St. Petersburg Philharmonic with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra, and his solo recital debut in 2012 in the Mozart House in Vienna. Mun is a laureate of the Maestro Temirkanov’s Prize, has worked with the Rostropovich Foundation (where he received a Sviatoslav Richter Award) and has performed at the International Musical Olympus Festival and Mariinsky International Piano Festival. In the summers of 2016 and 2017 he took part in the Verbier Festival Academy, and won the Tabor prize for the best pianist. In November 2018, Mun had recitals in Strasbourg, Luxembourg, Brussels and Paris, and played live on Radio France. He has taken masterclasses with D. Bashkirov, S. Babayan, K. Hellwig, R. Goode, and A. Shiff, among others, and played with many orchestras, such as the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, Tchaikovsky Orchestra, Mariinsky Orchestra, and St. Petersburg State Academic Philharmonic Orchestra. Over the years, Mun has collaborated with conductors such as V. Gergiev, M.-A. Chen, F. Mastrangelo, Z. Gugkaev, D. Liss, M. Russell Smith, I. Hobson and others.
