Educationof Young Artists
15. 7. – 10. 8. 2025
Vič-Rudnik Music School and Ljubljana Academy of Music
One of Ljubljana Festival’s main aims is to educate young artists. It was precisely for this reason that in 2019 we first organised masterclasses for Slovenian and foreign students, under the artistic direction of Branimir Slokar. One of the most famous trombone players, who made a historical development in music that is felt around the world to this day. At his invitation, his colleagues – excellent musicians, soloists, professors at renowned European musical-educational institutions who are among the best in the world – come to Ljubljana every year. This means students not only have the opportunity to practice with the best, but also enjoy excellent working conditions. In addition to perfecting their instrument-playing skills, young talented artists are acquainted with various tools and skills to begin creating a successful career in the contemporary world, and possibilities are opened up that can help them on the competitive market.
In 2019 we organized our first masterclasses for both domestic and international students under the artistic direction of Branimir Slokar, one of the most prominent trombonists who brought about a historic shift in the field of classical music, a legacy still felt across the world today.
At his invitation his colleagues, outstanding musicians, soloists and professors at prestigious European music institutions, return to Ljubljana each year. As a result students benefit not only from working with the very best but also from excellent learning conditions.
