Ljubljana World Book Capital 2010 and Ljubljana Festival
For a year between 23 April 2010 and 23 April 2011, Ljubljana will be the tenth city to hold the prestigious World Book Capital title, awarded by UNESCO. Ljubljana Festival also cooperates with various events at Ljubljana Castle. HOPSCOTCH Project by Nona Ciobanu and Peter Košir lasted from 25.5.-1.8. included Spatial Video Installation, Performance and a Concert, in cooperation with KUD France Prešeren. Library Under the Tree Tops 2010, the only 100% natural library, is still in progress, every friday, saturday and sunday from 10.00 till 20.00. Between 27.6. and 12.6. we also offered in programme Necropolis theatre performance in cooperation with he Pod Topoli Cultural Society, the Celinka Society and the Ljubljana City Theatre. You also still have the oppurtunity to see exhibition EX-LIBRIS showing the connection between the book/literature and the fine arts on several levels; in cooperation with the Ljubljana Fine Artists Society, curator Jadranka Ljubičić, closing on 5.9. 2010.
