Bolšoj theatre closed the Ljubljana Festival 2009
Festival Ljubljana 2009 je potekal med 6. julijem in 27. avgustom. V tem času je na trinajstih festivalskih prizoriščih nastopilo več kot 2500 nastopajočih iz 23 držav. 73 izjemnih poletnih prireditev pa si je ogledalo preko 70.000 obiskovalcev. The last festival week was marked by four sold out performances of the great State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the fourth performance, on August 27, was also the closing event of the Festival Ljubljana 2009. The world renowned theatre performed in Cankarjev dom with their new staging of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin by extraordinary Russian director Dmitrij Černjakov, a staging that for stalwarts of tradition has even proved to be somewhat controversial, has enthused internationally recognized connoisseurs of opera as well as the Ljubljana's audience. All four performances with their outstanding soloists and amazing set surpassed all expectations. This year's festival lasted from July 6 till August 27. More than 2500 artists from 23 countries performed on 13 beautiful venues. 73 events were performed, this events attracted more than 70.000 visitors.
