The history of our capital has once again been revived in the Virtual Museum. On the initiative of Tobačna Ljubljana company custodians of historical recollections and creators of virtual reality met in the first exploit of this kind in Slovenia. Ljubljana squares of the past, which were reconstructed with all available and accessible means and the aid of the most advanced technology, were brought to life in a stroll through two millennia.
This enables you to view the urban and architectural development of Ljubljana in the palm of your hand, so-to-speak, as well as its cultural and economic growth to gain an impression of the life of its inhabitants. The world in which our Slovene forefathers lived comes alive before your eyes in virtual reality.
Guided tour for visitors
Ljubljana squares through the ages can be viewed independently in the form of a prepared 23-minute presentation. The visitor listens to a guided presentation and experiences what the Virtual Museum has to offer in an abridged form.

Active participation of visitors
The interaction of the viewer with the virtual environment runs with the aid of a navigation interface that takes him or her on an exploration of the town's squares through time. In this case the visitor can create a route through the museum alone or with a professional guide.
Virtual-Mobile
Apart from the aforementioned, the visitor can view a stereoscopic projection of museum pieces and exhibits in the Virtual-Mobile. They can be rotated and enlarged at will in a virtual reality environment that allows one to admire those details that usually cannot be seen in a museum exhibition because of security.
The Virtual Museum permits the visitor not only to travel to our city's past, but offers rich knowledge and food for thought. If only we would know how to use it for a rich and creative future!
