The Devil's Courtyard
Possibly the most picturesque setting in the Križanke complex, the Devil's Courtyard, was designed by Plečnik to serve as a venue for small chamber performances.
The History
The Križanke complex was built on the left bank of the Ljubljanica River, on the so-called New Square. The original location of the medieval town was squeezed between the castle hill and the Ljubljanica River; the left bank was first used as a fishing village, but from the 16th century on, it became more and more prestigious.
The Open Air Theatre
The Križanke Open Air Theatre is considered to be one of the most beautiful and acoustic open-air venues in Slovenia.
