When the Mi Ha’ Ish psalm was devised in the 11th century, Chief Rabbi accompanied it with the following words: “Let this psalm be found by one whose heart is filled with sadness. Let this song comfort him and offer him new hope in these times of hardship …” Even today, Mi Ha’ Ish is still looking for a man; the Mi Ha’ Ish psalm, which is about friendship and mutual trust, is looking for the real man, the man whose hope has been taken away. Since today is also a time of hardship …

With the musical and theatrical evening Mi Ha’ Ish – Who Is the Man?, we would like to take a step forward. Using the beauty of klezmer and Sephardic music, we wish to draw closer to people, and present some of the most beautiful Jewish customs through songs and witty anecdotes.

The creator and producer of the show is the actress Polona Vetrih, who chose the actor Saša Tabaković, and four excellent musicians, Janez Dovč, accordion, Boštjan Gombač, clarinet, Vasilij Centrih, violin, and Goran Krman, tuba, to accompany her. The quartet is a marvellous supplement to the dramatic activity, and listeners will enjoy a special and unusual performance.
