The Mediterranean Youth Orchestra (OJM) brings together gifted young musicians who are chosen by means of annual auditions held in the countries of the Mediterranean region in conjunction with youth orchestras and music schools. The orchestra is part of the Académie du Festival d’Aix (Aix-en-Provence, France), at which the selected musicians receive training at the highest level under the mentorship of the Festival’s resident artists. During the weeks in which the members of the orchestra come together, the OJM promotes multiculturalism and offers invaluable experience and support to musicians embarking on a professional career. In 2016 symphonic training is led by the internationally renowned Slovene conductor Marko Letonja.
